Job Duties:
· Maintain safety and security of facilities, inmates and the public, remain on-call for emergency situations. Work as a receiving, booking, classification, and inmate transport Corrections Officer. Other related duty including document visitations, inmate movements and jail activity. Notify courts of arraignments and perform court escort. Data entry of inmate booking information, take pictures and fingerprints, complete inmate questionnaire, explain jail rules, issue bedding, clothes and hygiene kit. Other related duties including public assistance both by telephone and at county and maintain jail supplies.
Requirements:
· Be at least 21 years of age
· Pass a background check
· Able to possess a valid FOID card
· Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
· Must be a resident of Washington County or a neighboring county
· Be able to successfully complete Basic Correctional Officer Academy

WASHINGTON COUNTY PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
Washington County Public Communication is currently accepting applications for full-time and part-time 911 Telecommunicator positions.
Required skills include typing, operation of radio, telephone, computer and related communications equipment. Applicants must be able to work in a 24/7 environment – all days, all shifts and holidays as needed. Applicants must be able to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations. Strong communication skills are required. Bi-lingual skills (Spanish / English) are a plus but not required. Preference will be given to applicants with previous 911 Telecommunicator experience. Applicants must be able to pass Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS), Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) through the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatching, CPR, continuing education requirements for the 911 Telecommunicator position as well as a criminal background check.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or G.E.D., two year degree preferred and possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License along with reliable transportation. Applicants must have no history of domestic violence or felony convictions.
